| Our Sweat sidearm Heat Exchangers are 1 1/2 inch in diameter, with 3/4” OD sweat top and bottom ports, and 1 1/8” OD sweat (copper tube size) side ports. Heating tube is 13" long. The threaded sidearm has 3/4" FPT (female pipe thread) end ports, and 1" FPT side ports.
Many Sidearm Heat Exchangers have a tube within a tube only; Our Sidearm Heat Exchangers have multiple tubes within the exterior tube. This offers more surface area for heating. The overall length of either one is 17". |
Example:
- 50 degree water enters sidearm
- 130 degree water leaves sidearm
- 2.1 GPM through water heater side
- 8.5 GPM through furnace side
- 160 degree water entering from furnace
- Using the above parameters, the sidearm produces 84,000 BTU
- Recovery time for a 50 gallon water heater is 15 minutes
- From the outdoor wood boiler, go to the top one inch port first to get best results.
